How should I drive a classic '73 Volkswagen convertible?
I bought a '73 Volkswagen convertible today. I know you can't drive these old VWs like American cars of this vintage. Any suggestions? How high should I keep the RPMs? Downshifting to slow important? Why does it back fire when I've been gassing it

1) If you have the old owners manual,get it out and read it. IF you do not, then get one (via eBay or a similar source of reprints).
