Is there a trick to Mazda 3's rear brake calipers? Can't collapse it with pad spreader?

Tried using the pad spreader, it bent. The rear calipers have a parking brake cable, removed that too. Seems the caliper is stuck?

Some of the newer models require a tool that is three pronged and the pistons in the caliper screw in to spread--talk to a local auto parts store, the y can tell you and usually have loaner tools
