When changing brakes on a 2000 Honda Civic EX should I use OEM pads and rotors?

I was wondering if when changing brakes on a 2000 honda civic ex should I use OEM ( from a honda dealer) Pads and Rotors or would I be safe buying pads and rotors from ex. Napa, Autozone, Advanced Auto Parts
yes and the only upgrade i would ever do are hawk hps brake pads those are great
